Injection, 'restraint' and a sausage

Mas went to the surgery and had his swine flu injection, and went off to meet a friend at lunch time. I walked off to Edgware and got some shopping. Later I did some more painting, on my 'restrained ' picture, and later fearing I may go mad and add some bright colour declared it 'finished' to myself.

Later, showing it to Mas, he thought it was good...not that he is prejudiced in my favour in any way! Luckily he seems to be having no ill effects from his injection today.

Today we went to Borehamwood to get shopping and cat food. While there, we bumped into Marion who is keeping busy as usual. We went to The Golden Plaice and had a fish and chip dinner which we enjoyed, and were also given a sausage for the cat!

Free fish and rose mysteries

I phoned Pete, and both he and Lorraine were feeling a bit under the weather. Mas and I planned to go to Borehamwood and get Salty some more of his food. Just as we were leaving home we met Myk who chatted with us for a while and bought us up to date with local current events.

Once in Borehamwood we went to the Golden Plaice and had a fish and chip lunch, and they gave us a cold fish for Salty, which he enjoyed later, and about four sausages! While we were having lunch the Borehamwood Carnival passed by, and I was sorry I had not got my camera.


We got another sack of kibbles for Salty , but the pet shop were doing a session of dog photos for their owners so we were pleased to leave quickly to escape the noise, and that was just the pet owners!








The roses are very good this year. We have a rose mystery; we had a bush of white roses at the front of the garden, and a pink one at the side near the house. These roses seem to have changed places as where there was pink there are now white roses and where the whites used to be are now pink!

Good health and great sausages

This morning I had to visit my doctor who I had not seen for almost a year. He said he knew I had been to hell and back since he saw me last, but added that I now look very well, and better than he had seen me looking for a long time.

Mas had an appointment an hour later and found his blood pressure was perfect, and recent blood tests had all come out normal, which was excellent.

We then went off to Borehamwood to get some shopping and DIY things. We had lunch at our fish and chip cafe. The waitress after looking at a picture of Salty showed us a short video of her pet which is a ferret. She gave us some left over sausages for Salty, and said her ferret would not eat them. She bathes her ferret every day or two, and blow dries him afterwards; he cost her £35.00. This is not her pet, hers is much whiter.

Of cats and cars

Mas and I went to Boreham Wood as there are two pet shops there, and we thought we would see if there were any kittens. First we looked in the nearest pet shop, but they did not have any kittens for sale we then had a fish and chips lunch and we got the shopping we needed and thought about finding the next pet shop.

We found our car would not start despite trying numerous times to get it going. Finally I was going to call the breakdown recovery people, only to find my phone needed recharging! With the help of the friendly girl in the pet shop we managed to phone and were told help would arrive within the hour. The cheerful breakdown man arrived, got in the car, turned the key, and hey presto it started immediately! We felt duly mortified, but he said it was surprising how often this happens, and after completing the forms he left grinning and waving.

We tried a Vets practice, and they gave us useful numbers to try for a rescue kitten. The second pet shop did not have live animals, so we went home. In the evening we watched the concluding parts or The Bill and Silent Witness, and to cheer me up we watched an episode of Jeeves and Wooster.
